10 Clean Wins Over Top WWE Stars That Were Totally Wasted

4. Seth Rollins D. Triple H (WrestleMania 33)

Wrestler vs. authority figures stopped being interesting a decade ago, but Triple H vs. Seth Rollins at least escalated in a logical manner. It started when 'The Game' screwed his former protege out of the Universal Title, continued when Seth invaded NXT TakeOver: San Antonio, and concluded at WrestleMania 33, when 'The Architect' finally went head-to-head with his former ally.

It was a long, turgid bout, but it ended the right way, with Rollins pinning Triple H with his own move - the Pedigree. Finally turned free of the storyline, Seth's victory should have launched him back into the main event, and re-opened the possibility of a Universal Championship run, but WWE gave him little to work with in the aftermath.

Rollins defeated Samoa Joe at Payback, but lost a number one contender's match at Extreme Rules. This failure sent him down the card, resulting in a storyline with Dean Ambrose that, while enjoyable, has left him lower on the totem pole than he was prior to the Triple H feud.

The one major positive is that Hunter and Stephanie McMahon haven't been seen on television since, but their feud took Seth out of the main event picture, and he has only flirted with returning since.
