6. CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio (WWE Over The Limit 2010)
Though having wrestled Rey Mysterio some eight years prior for independent promotion IWA Mid-South in 2002, CM Punk's match with Mysterio from 2010's Over the Limit pay-per-view involved CM Punk getting a haircut at the hands of Mysterio, who had put on the line his potential membership in Punk's Straight Edge Society stable. Creepy Punk-as-Charles Manson lookalike was something else. The SES era allowed Punk to be far more of a "gimmick-driven performer" than "pro wrestler," and the idea that Punk and legendary "more wrestling-than-gimmick" luchador Mysterio can go out and keep the WWE Universe in the palm of their hands with a match stipulation straight out of 25 years prior is impressive.
