Trouble is brewing in the land of opportunity. When Shane McMahon led the SmackDown Live roster into an unannounced attack on RAW, he not only sparked a rivalry with the flagship show, but he ticked off his own General Manager in the process. Tensions are rising on Tuesday nights between the Commissioner and his right hand man, Daniel Bryan.
It is common knowledge (if not confirmed) that Bryan’s WWE contract expires in 2018. It isn’t clear at all where the Bryan/Shane story is going, but the leader of the YES! Movement may find himself out of a job sooner rather than later. The former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion has made no secret of his desire to get back into the ring, so the chances are he won’t be too heartbroken by the decision. This could well be the beginning of the end for Daniel Bryan in the company.
With DBry out of the way, the question must be asked - who will replace Mr. Brie Bella as the General Manager of SmackDown? WWE isn’t exactly short of options, from active superstars to Hall of Famers via Ravishing Russians and everything in between.
