The 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw aired on July 23, 2012, and was a historic event. As was promoted for months, most of the huge stars of the company's past returned for the one night extravaganza, from Bret Hart to The Rock, and the result was a three-hour spectacular that no fan would soon forget. It was WWE at its best, star-studded and honoring its own history. The next week, though, Raw wouldn't even have an opening video package! There was no intentional reason for the 180 in glitz and glamour, though right before the show went on the air, a pyro mishap caused the Titantron to catch on fire! Though the frightening accident happened before the Cincinnati, OH, show officially began, it affected that night's broadcast (and footage of the fire was aired numerous times throughout the night). Thankfully, there were no injuries, but the event stands as a testament to the risks associated with running live television.
