Since this is one of those things that only happened one time in WWE history it warrants inclusion because it was strictly done as a segment to draw ratings. Of course we're talking about the live sex celebration with Edge and Lita on the January 9, 2006 edition of Raw. The "live sex celebration" was something Edge wanted to do as a way to show off in front of the fans on Raw. It was an unprecedented angle that we had never seen before and there's been nothing like it since either. There was a bed in the ring as Edge and Lita slowly started to turn things up a notch by kissing, then undressing and going under the covers. Lita's breast was actually visible briefly at one point. Things got pretty intense until it was broken up by Ric Flair and later John Cena. It got so far that Edge & Lita were fooling around under the covers. The ratings ploy actually worked well because it was one of the highest rated segments on Raw in a long time with a 5.2 rating, which was one of the highest ratings they got over the course of a few years.There's no denying that the "live sex celebration" worked like WWE hoped it would. It was definitely a success because people were curious about what it was going to be about. It was exactly the right kind of segment that was made for TV that is also likely never going to be repeated again.
