10 Crazy WWE Raw Moments You Totally Don't Remember

10. Sabu's Insane Leg Drop

As far as wrestling nicknames go, “The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac” isn’t exactly the most succinct, nor is it the catchiest. It might just be the most appropriate epithet in the sport’s history, however: the bearer of it, Sabu, is one of the most insane individuals to ever perform for mainstream wrestling audiences.

Sabu’s work was never clean - he was a notorious botch-merchant - but that didn’t matter. You didn’t watch Sabu matches for crisp wrestling exchanges: you watched for the spectacle of watching a complete lunatic try to break himself in half for your entertainment.

From duct-taping his broken jaw shut while wrestling The Sandman, to literally super-gluing an arm laceration closed after a barbed wire rope match, most of Sabu’s craziest moments came in ECW. His WWE run wasn’t without its highlights, however, and on June 19, 2006, he almost ended himself again.

It looks tame compared to some of his more grisly moments, but the way Sabu “balances” on the top rope after popping up from the chair is worrying. What’s really impressive is that he’s able to steady himself, leap off, and destroy John Cena with a leg drop through the announce table. How on Earth he convinced Vince McMahon to let him do this is anyone’s guess - but it was an awesome moment, nonetheless.
