WrestleMania XXIV must have been such a comedown for Batista and Umaga. The previous year at 'Mania 23 Batista had a thrilling World Heavyweight Championship match against The Undertaker whilst The Samoan Bulldozer had the highest-profile match of his career in the Battle of the Billionaires. The two men can't have been pleased to find themselves in a meaningless midcard match at XXIV. WWE tried to dress it up by calling it a 'Battle for Brand Supremacy' but, in reality, it was just filler. Still, even if there was nothing at stake and it was placed innocuously in the middle of the card, at least the match would be great, right? Batista and Umaga were two heavy-hitting heavyweights and people were expecting a titanic showdown. Instead they got seven minutes of fairly decent action that was marred by some serious sloppiness on Batista's part. The Animal was reportedly miffed that he was given such a nondescript match on the grandest stage of them all. He can't have been happy when fans starting cheering the heel Umaga over him, either. The match was over quickly and then quickly forgotten.
