10 Dream Wrestling Matches That Only Happened On TV

Wrestling fans often fantasize about dream matches, regardless of whether they're possible or not. For example, the chances of The Undertaker and Sting finally facing off at WrestleMania are likelier than ever with Sting close to signing a deal with WWE. However, a match between Daniel Bryan and Bret Hart is pretty much out of the question with Hart retired from in-ring competition. With most dream matches being of marquee value, they only place you'll usually see them is on pay-per-view, most notably at WrestleMania. John Cena vs. The Rock, Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock, and Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle all occurred on The Grandest Stage of Them All, but there are a handful of dream matches that did not. In fact, there's quite a few matches you never thought you'd see that didn't go down on PPV at all. Whenever WWE or WCW were desperate for ratings, they'd hype a blockbuster bout for their flagships show, Raw and Nitro, respectively, as an incentive for viewers to tune in. In doing so, both companies have given away several dream matches on free TV that never made it to PPV. Some of the following matches took place long before the stars involved reached top-tier status, making them rare gems that have since been forgotten.
