10 Dumbest Decisions By WWE Champions
7. Andre The Giant - Sold The Title To Ted Dibiase
Andre The Giant held up his end of a moneyed deal when he defeated Hulk Hogan in the most-watched and - at the time - most corrupt WWE Championship match of all time.
But he should have read the fine print in his company contract, rather than the cartoonish block text in the unscrupulous deal he made with Ted Dibiase.
It took the Million Dollar Man's money to sort Earl Hebner's "plastic surgery" in the first place, but the business arrangement went bust the second Andre handed that brand new Winged Eagle over. President Jack Tunney couldn't do anything about the twisted title change between 'The Hulkster' and The Giant, but he could affect change as soon as the strap was reduced to that of a transactional item.
Andre couldn't go back to being Champion, Dibiase's reign was chalked off completely, and neither man could wrangle the WrestleMania IV tournament in such a way that stopped Randy Savage and - by proxy - Hulk Hogan getting requisite revenge on 'The Grandest Stage'.
