Wrestling is all about provoking an emotional response from the watching audience. Sounds simple when it's put like that, doesn't it? Unfortunately, things are a bit more complex than just throwing any old silliness out there hoping it'll make people laugh, smile, grimace or cry.

WWE love (the thought of) doing the latter.

Moments like Ric Flair's in-ring retirement in 2008 and the beautiful reunion between Randy Savage and Miss. Elizabeth from WrestleMania VII are gorgeous examples of tear-jerking drama done right. If only every moment designed to cause tears succeeded for the right reasons, instead of causing laughter or, worse, sheer confusion.
