2. The Triple H-Booker T Fiasco (WrestleMania XIX)
While not a bad match in terms of quality, the circumstances surrounding this match were controversial, to say the least. Basically, Booker T won a 20-man Battle Royal to earn the right to face Triple H at WrestleMania XIX for the World Heavyweight Championship. What was supposed to be a situation where the Champion was supposed to feel threatened, or at least treat the contender as an equal, was instead a feud that centered on destroying any credibility Booker T had. Triple H played up Booker Ts criminal past, and made (possibly) racist remarks about people like Booker being there to entertain him. This made Booker T look weak in comparison to Triple H, instead of building him up as a credible threat to the champion. As for the match itself, Booker was made to look incredibly weak by comparison. Normally, in a major title match such as this one, both the challenger and the champion use multiple signature and finishing moves against one another, building the match up and telling a great story of determination throughout the match. Instead, Booker T got attacked by Ric Flair, and was pinned by a single Pedigree from Triple H. This was nowhere near the competitive contest that it couldve been. Booker T was fighting an uphill battle against Triple H, due in no small part to HHHs selfishness in not wanting Booker T to kick out of his Pedigree finisher even once, to help add drama to the match. Though not a squash match, it couldve been much better if Booker T had been presented as a more credible opponent.
