As most would expect, Guerrero was to have played a prominent role in the 2005 Survivor Series, taking part in the big five-on-five main event as part of Team SmackDown. He had recently turned babyface following a short feud with Batista over the World Heavyweight title.
Guerrero had initially won a spot on the SmackDown team by defeating Mr. Kennedy in what turned out to be his last match ever. Randy Orton was named as his replacement.
