10 Former WWE NXT Wrestlers You Totally Don't Remember

3. Kendall Skye

Like a number of her developmental peers, Kendall Skye started her WWE career in a non-wrestling role while still honing her skills. A former actress and stunt double, she came with a background in kickboxing, and initially served as NXT’s ring announcer.

She was originally pegged for a role as WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee’s bodyguard, but this went to Tamina Snuka instead. Further plans to promote her like a pro-wrestling version of Ronda Rousey also fell through, and despite rubbing shoulders with the likes of Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Paige in the ring, Skye’s WWE tenure was short-lived.

She entered the company in February 2013, but didn’t step into the ring at all for the first few months. Primarily appearing on house shows, Skye was usually utilized as a tag team wrestler, but did score a dark match win over Banks early in her run. She only ever appeared on NXT television as an announcer, and left in September 2014.

Skye faced a number of injury problems throughout her career, and this frustration drove her to ask for her eventual release. She has since returned to work as a stunt double, but it’s hard to imagine her wrestling career ending this way had she been slotted into one of those initially proposed roles.
