In 2010, WWE announced a special event called WrestleMania Art. They only sold about 100 tickets and it was held in a garden in Phoenix. You could bid on Art by WWE Superstars and Divas and mingle with the wrestlers while you were there. There were wrestlers, like Jesse/Slam Master J, who were perfectly pleasant but you could tell they were devastated to not be on the WrestleMania card and knew their career was going nowhere with the company. The Miz was talking to everyone but made sure to make fun of most people, including me. He called me a Bushwhacker at one point, which was lovely. Bret Hart was there doing drawings. Bret's always happy to take time to meet people, sign autographs and take pictures but he does come across as a wee bit miserable and like he'd rather be doing something else. Nonetheless, it didn't stop me from nattering on about the 1993 King of the Ring to him and how much I enjoyed it. The best talent we met that day was Jerry 'The King' Lawler. King and I had a five minute chat where he talked about his drawings and how much he loved his art, before mentioning he'd still like to have a match at WrestleMania (foreshadowing), then remarking how he had a great time poking fun at Stu and Helen Hart on TV in the mid-90s and how, apparently, Stu loved the jibes from Lawler. All in all, I had a few vodkas, got a wee bit tipsy and bid on some art (I didn't win any with my $200 limit) and got to talk to some WWE stars. Sadly they stopped WrestleMania Art in 2011, but if they bring it back, make sure to get a ticket.
