10. Joey Ryan's Amazing ALL IN Cameo

An unforgettable moment, at ALL IN, the resurrected Joey Ryan - that pun being incidental to the actual joke - avenged his murder at the hands of Hangman Page.

This cameo followed Page's blistering, violent and hugely entertaining win over Joey Janela in addition to following a preposterously entertaining Being The Elite storyline that saw Page, furious at this "penis pretender", murder him - only for his guilt to manifest as a talking, tormenting pair of cowboy boots. An audacious multimedia cross-promotion extravaganza both intentionally dumb and very, very clever, this was the Elite pulling off incredibly good wrestling storytelling. Their affectionate piss-take was so much better and more gripping than most of the serious stories spun by other companies. A storyline in which a heel murdered a guy under the mistaken belief that said guy's penis was fake was significantly less laughable, too.

It all came to a head (sorry) at ALL IN, at which Ryan, flanked by a procession of penis druids, rose from the dead. It couldn't have looked more ridiculous, and yet, it was essentially the Undertaker's powerful big league shtick presented with a negative colour image effect.

This literally illustrated that all wrestling storytelling is inherently ludicrous - some are just considerably better at it than others.
