10 Future Trios Champions In AEW
AEW has created trios titles and there will likely be many challengers for the belts in the future.
The AEW World Trios Championship tournament will see the inaugural winners of the prize be crowned at All Out in Chicago, which essentially creates an entirely new division in the company. The long-awaited introduction of the belts will provide another incentive for various factions in the company to fight and in a more practical sense allows more performers to be involved in the company.
The sheer number of groups in the promotion made the invention of the titles inevitable, which is displayed by some of the talents in the tournament such as the Elite, Best Friends, Death Triangle, and the House of Black. Any of the remaining teams in the tournament could feasibly be the inaugural champions, which will undoubtedly create a dramatic conclusion to proceedings.
However, the deep roster that could contend for the newest belts in AEW goes beyond the teams who have been recently competing in the tournament. There is a plethora of established units who could challenge for the Trios Titles in the future, as well as some groups who have yet to be formed.
10. The Acclaimed And Billy Gunn
The partnership and ongoing feud between The Gunn Club and The Acclaimed has been a surprise hit in recent months for AEW, as the two young duos have proven to be valuable acts within the company. Billy Gunn's role in the feud has also been the perfect use of the veteran who is more than happy to unleash his humorous side to the benefit of his character.
Having the 'Ass Man' side with The Acclaimed over his own sons may seem like a strange decision, but it was ultimately the right one for both teams. Austin and Colten now look to be associated with Stokely Hathaway and the new stable he is seemingly putting together, which should help elevate them to the next level.
As a trios unit, the combination of Billy and his new surrogate sons would not be the most obvious choice for champions. However, it would be a great way to reward the group for how much they have been able to get over as an act together. It could also be a great way for the patriarch of the Gunn family to finish his wrestling career with a bang.
