7. Emmalina
Emmalina has become modern wrestling's go-to head scratcher.
On the 3 October 2016 Raw, WWE ran vignettes hyping plain old Emma's makeover. She'd become Emmalina, a vain, egoist who may have acted like some sort of Diva throwback. Fans would never know, because these hype vids dragged on and on and on and on and on for months.
Then, finally, Raw's entranceway gave birth to Emmalina on 13 February 2017, and... she revealed she'd be going through another makeover. This time, Emmalina would go back to being Emma. Almost everybody who had sat through endless conjecture groaned all at once - they'd been duped into thinking this might be something worthwhile.
WWE never returned to the Emmalina character or even attempted to justify the cancellation. Instead, Emma appeared on the 3 April Raw as her old self and it was like nothing had happened. Maybe that's because it pretty much hadn't.
