10 Great WWE Feuds That Never Got A One-On-One WrestleMania Match
6. Triple H vs. The Rock
This is arguably the most interesting entry on this list, because it's the one match that should have happened more than any other.
In the lead-up to WrestleMania 2000, it looked clear as crystal that WWE Champion Triple H would be defending the gold against The Rock in the main event.
Then Vince McMahon realised that his family members needed a payday.
The final match of the card was changed to the infamous 'McMahon in Every Corner' four-way. Big Show and Mick Foley joined The Game and The Great One, diluting what would have been an epic singles encounter.
If you don't think that a singles match would have been better, just watch the main event of the following month's Backlash.
Trips and Rocky didn't even get to fight at WrestleMania during their earlier midcard feud. Their ladder match at SummerSlam 1998 is the only 'Big Four' showdown they ever had.
There hasn't been a match between these two since the August 19th, 2002 episode of Raw. There were plans for Dwayne to team with Ronda Rousey against Hunter and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34, but Kurt Angle ended up taking his place instead.
