As aforementioned, Kurt Angle didn't take long to become one of the best pro wrestlers in the world. Taking to the industry like a duck would to water, the Olympic Gold Medal winner found his ideal dance partner in Chris Benoit. The hard-hitting 'Rabid Wolverine' was perfect for Kurt, who didn't mind the rough style that the Canadian favoured. Together, they'd have countless great matches. At WrestleMania X-Seven, they wrestled a mid-card bout which is still tremendously underrated. There was a smoothness to their work which complemented the other man sweetly. The feud would continue at both Backlash and Judgment Day 2001. In a 30-minute Submission Match and 2 Out of 3 Fall war respectively, Angle and Benoit pretty much stole the show both times. On episodes of Raw and Smackdown, the pairing were considered a stick-on good match for management. It wouldn't be too long until they locked horns again, and this time Benoit and Angle hit the wrestling jackpot. At the 2003 Royal Rumble, a near-20 minute clash over the WWE Title was simply flawless. Not even the Rumble itself could top the action, it was incredible.
