2. D-Generation X

Led By: Triple H & Shawn Michaels Prominent Members: Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Chyna, Rick Rude, X-Pac, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg Date(s): 1997-2000, Intermittent reunions since €œAre you READY?!?€ WCW may have had the nWo, but the WWE had DX, and this crew of misfits just didn€™t give a damn. D-Generation X came at exactly the right time. Their first feud was with the Hart Foundation, and unlike the clean cut boys from Calgary, DX was grimy. Plus, they had Chyna, and we had never seen anyone like Chyna before. Amazon-esque is quite the understatement €” unlike the female wrestlers before her, Chyna looked like she could kill half the male roster, should the opportunity ever present itself.DX wasn€™t heels for long, however €” as much as the commentators tried to sell them as €˜disgraceful,€™ the people loved their anti-authority vibe, their love of stupid pranks, and their consistent torturing of Mr. McMahon. Today, the group is pretty much a babyface nostalgia act €” every now and then, the original members will reunite in the ring and get a massive pop. But still, the heel incarnation deserves massive kudos: for pushing the boundaries of good taste, and for kicking off the Attitude Era alongside Steve Austin. And that theme song? One of the best, and catchy as all hell.
