10 Greatest High-Flyers Of The Pre-Attitude Era

3. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka

Come on, admit it. You still get goosebumps thinking about Jimmy Snuka standing atop that cage, face bloodied, feet bare, hands raised in that famous pose of his, preparing to jump.

And let's face it, even if that's the only time he ever performed a high-flying move, it would be enough to catapult him into the annals of history.

Mick Foley, Bubba Ray Dudley, Tommy Dreamer, and The Sandman all claim to have been in attendance that night. Certainly watching Snuka leap down onto Don Muraco from fifteen feet in the air had a profound effect on them, as it likely did for many of you reading.

Of course, Snuka deserves to be remembered for much more than that one moment. First of all, no one who looked like Jimmy Snuka usually spent that much time flying through the air.

Superfly was a bodybuilder in his native Hawaii, and he had the look of someone who could go toe-to-toe with Hulk Hogan or The Ultimate Warrior without a problem.

And he could also jump kick them in the face.

Snuka is similar to Ricky Steamboat in a lot of ways. Superfly just happens to have the kind of defining moment in mid-air that sticks in the brain.
