10 Greatest Vince McMahon Creations
10. Braun Strowman
It's possibly premature to include Braun Strowman here, but he has been in order to counter the argument that Vince no longer has any clue what he's doing.
Strowman is a unique quantity, in that he passed through developmental but did not go the NXT route. He bypassed that brand as a result of both the audience for it - his size alone would have triggered the Full Sail faithful, unfairly or no - and McMahon's impatience. You only need look at Strowman to see what Vince sees in him.
Strowman is so good in his role as a sh*t-kicking destroyer that he has virtually subverted this new workrate-heavy paradigm. It's fascinating; the one male singles Performance Center graduate who did not make his name outside of it is a man prematurely called up as a pet project of McMahon's, and not Triple H. He has flourished brighter than even the slightly modified Indy darlings Trips drafted in to legitimise NXT as a touring brand. His push may have been politicised, but that doesn't detract from his success. WWE has never been a meritocracy.
How much of this positioning results from his role as foil to Roman Reigns is up for debate. What isn't is that there is life on the old, grapefruit-testicled dog yet.
