Atlantis, also known as the "Idol of the Youths", is considered an unmatchable master of the acrobatic style, a memory from a time long gone in Mexican professional wrestling. He was a champion both in the West and the East, becoming one of the trailblazers in the unique relationship between Mexican and Japanese wrestling.

On quite a curious note, Atlantis first appeared under the spotlight in the late 1980s, a period of political and social turmoil in Mexico. Business as usual in the good old Aztec kingdom. The conservative administration at the time launched a campaign that prohibited the broadcast of Lucha Libre in major TV networks, as it was considered a sport that led to violent acts in everyday life. And so it was that the legend of Atlantis and his rise in popularity spread from mouth to mouth for a couple of years, until the ban was finally lifted.
