10. HHH Teases A DX Reunion - Then Pedigrees HBK

In summer 2002, a planned NWO €˜supergroup€™ angle fell by the wayside. WCW€™s New World Order faction had been put back together in WWE with Booker T and Ric Flair joining Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. The idea was for a returning Shawn Michaels to join the group and Triple H to be traded back to the RAW brand, thereby setting up not only a €˜DX joins the NWO€™ story, but also the reformation of the Kliq. Sadly, with Scott Hall being fired and Kevin Nash suffering a legitimate injury to his biceps, McMahon made the decision to shelve the NWO angle€ but Triple H was still traded to RAW, reuniting with the Heartbreak Kid in the ring on July 22nd 2002 €“ both men wearing DX t-shirts €“ for the traditional introduction and pose. DX was back! Or not. As Michaels posed next to him, waiting for Hunter to finish the cue for SUCK IT!, Triple H did the unthinkable €“ he turned, kicked Shawn in the gut and delivered a hellacious Pedigree, ripping off his DX t-shirt and stalking from the ring. The heel of heels was back, not DX. In Michaels€™ first wrestling match in four years, following the back injury that had nearly permanently retired him, he would go on to tear the house down at Summerslam with Triple H with a Street Fight gimmick, the DX feud having legs all the way to Armageddon in December 2002.
