10 Guys That Could Save TNA

By Chris Quicksilver /

5. Shane McMahon

Some of you reading this just spat on your computer screens in disbelief, but hear us out on this one... Vince McMahon€™s only son isn€™t involved in wrestling at the moment, but just imagine what might happen if he was. As a 4th generation wrestling promoter, Shane McMahon€™s instincts are as finely honed as anybody€™s. He has an almost preternatural sense of the wrestling biz and how it all works. Supposing Shane became involved with booking TNA€™s product (not in direct competition to his father, sister and brother-in-law, but simply as a separate job within the same industry). It would provide him with a chance to show what he could do on his own... TNA€™s creative turmoil would surely come to an end almost overnight and Shane€™s presence would spark widespread media interest (which would be good for wrestling overall, not just TNA). A major re-branding exercise and a complete company re-org from the top down could see a leaner, hungrier TNA, with a keen wrestling mind at the helm. This €˜New€™ TNA would already have a jam-packed talent roster, but with increased media visibility and better promotion, the company could really grow over the ensuing years. Shane McMahon could even push himself as a character on TV €“ and who wouldn€™t want to see Dixie Carter take on The Mean Street Posse? (OK, we may have overstretched ourselves on that last point).
