Austin Aries, the self-appointed Greatest Man Who Ever Lived is a superb wrestler. Capable of working technical cruiserweight-style matchups with guys like Low Ki or (the vastly underrated) Kenny King, he can also wrestle bigger, stronger opponents convincingly too (did you guys see him hit a brainbuster on all 6,6 and 219lbs of Knux the other week!?) On top of that, TNA fans LOVE Aries. They love him. Whenever he is in a big match situation, the fans buzz with excitement at the prospect of a second Austin Aries World Championship run. Aries one and only reign as TNA World Champ was depressingly short (lasting only around 3 months) and Austin Aries as TNAs top gun is therefore still a fresh concept. TNAs current strategy of long-term heel champs (Bully Ray, Magnus, Lashley) alleviated by near-transitional babyface champs (A.J Styles, Eric Young) is frustrating in the extreme and could benefit from the inclusion of a long-term babyface champion. Austin Aries could well be the perfect man for this particular assignment.
