6. Bret Hart

This is one that has been played out time and time again, but Bret Hart had one of the more public bust-ups with the WWE.

Of course, the catalyst to all of this bad blood was the famed Montreal Screwjob.

Quicker than you could say "Bret screwed Bret", the then-WWF went about disregarding the career and accomplishments of The Hitman. Incessant mockery from D-Generation X and the sad passing of Owen Hart only further soured the situation between the two camps.

Hart and the WWE wouldn't speak for years, with the contribution of one of the greatest of all time being shunned time and time again. The Excellence of Execution painfully parted way with Vince's company in 1997 and the two parties didn't patch things up until 2005.

Bret Hart would take his rightful place in the Hall of Fame in 2006, but even then he'd skip the following night's traditional WrestleMania appearance, and the relationship between Bret and the WWE has at times been strained in the years since.

Yes, the two still have a working relationship, but you get the feeling that it isn't exactly all happiness and rainbows.
