4. Rey Mysterio Thrills On His WWE Debut

Speaking of impressive debuts on Smackdown, there are few more exciting than that of Rey Mysterio. Signing the Mexican star in 2002, WWE made the decision to drop the 'Jr' part of the man's name. Crucially, it was also decided that he should start wearing his trademark masks again, something WCW had stripped from his act. In the Summer of '02, there were talks that WWE were interested in putting a lot of focus on the Cruiserweight division. Mysterio would play a huge part in that, but upon his debut everyone realised that he had a lot more to offer the promotion. Enthralling everybody with his first match in the company against Chavo Guerrero, the masked man was even booked to dive from a Steel Cage onto The Un-Americans at the conclusion of the show. Debuting on the July 25th episode of Smackdown, Rey looked like the real deal. Of course, Guerrero knew how to work with him effectively, and proved to be the perfect opponent for his incoming friend. Dazzling high-flying moves and smooth transitions from spot to spot were the highlights here, in one of WWE's greatest ever debut performances.
