3. Johnny Gargano

Having had numerous failed tryouts with WWE since his pro debut in 2005, Johnny Gargano has nonetheless carved a nice little niche for himself in promotions such as DG USA and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, where he is considered a top performer in both. It's difficult to see why WWE wouldn't be interested in giving the guy a shot, especially when you look over his body of work as the Open The Freedom Gate Champion in Dragon Gate, working superlative matches with almost everybody, including his on/off-again tag partner, Chuck Taylor. Gargano is signed to Dragon Gate USA, but isn't on a long-term deal, and one has to believe he'd still love a shot in the big time leagues of WWE, if for no other reason than to live out his dreams on the largest stages possible. Over the past few years, Gargano has whipped himself into tremendous condition, and shares a size and stature similar to Daniel Bryan or CM Punk. The WWE mid-card scene, much like the main event, isn't festooned with as much talent as it could be. Trim the fat and give guys like Johnny Gargano a shot.
