5. Riott Police

Charlotte Flair's Spring sh*t-kickings of the Riott Squad were destined to lead to a one-off clash with leader Ruby in a nothing B-show title defence. It's that accepted fate that's lingered for so long that's made their feud on SmackDown Live! so thoroughly boring.

Regrettably, 'The Queen' is simply too talented, too over, and too believably better to be bested by a bullish B+ player. Ruby's plucky babyface act in NXT made her a serviceable challenger to Asuka's lengthy streak, but only once - and never again. The same will apply here - she's simply not ready for the minor prestige the blue brand belt carries.

In truth, none of the pieces have yet fallen into place for the NXT newcomers. In Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, she doesn't have a group with the chemistry or charisma of Paige's Absolution, nor does Riott herself have the acting chops of her Raw contemporary. On the go-home broadcast, Riott's reminder that Charlotte had held the title since last November was itself a damning indictment of the division at large - nobody has looked ready to slot into a WrestleMania title shot.

But then, contenders are sometimes like busses. Wait an age for one, then two come along at once...
