WWE Superstars are, by their very nature, larger-than-life characters. Some have had strange gimmicks, while others have been presented as extensions of their real-life personalities. However, not every Superstar has been a role model for the audience. There have, in fact, been many Superstars who€™ve gone to great lengths to appear €˜abnormal€™ to say the least. Some, even, have gone to extreme lengths, and as such, came across as insane. Merriam-Webster€™s dictionary has numerous meanings for the word €˜insane€™: €œa deranged state of mind€, €œextreme folly or unreasonableness€, €œsuch unsoundness of mind as to remove one from civil or criminal responsibility€*, among others. The point is, there have been a number of WWE Superstars who€™ve fit one or more of these criteria. While most fans can suspend their disbelief when watching wrestling programming, sometimes a Superstar€™s behaviour can really come across as €˜insane€™. Not content with being the vanilla, cookie-cutter mold of a babyface or heel character, some characters went to new heights in terms of outlandish behaviour. Whether through their words or their actions, the ten superstars discussed in this article were so insane that they should€™ve been institutionalized.
