WWE has always considered Madison Square Garden its home turf, dating all the way back to the companys founding. Shows at MSG have been fewer and farther between in recent years, but you can tell by the way they are hyping this show, its still a big deal. (You dont hear WWE talking about any other arena in the same manner.) Lesnar was only officially a part of the WWF/E roster for a little over two years, but he managed to appear at MSG nine times, competing in 10 matches only three of which were televised. Brock appeared a fourth time on television at MSG but didnt compete. His other five appearances were either in dark matches or at house shows.Brock very clearly was the Next Big Thing (as he was billed) and WWE made sure to feature him prominently at the Worlds Most Famous Arena.
