10 Last-Minute WWE Survivor Series 2016 Predictions

What big angle can we expect tonight?

WWE lied. Survivor Series isn’t about Fantasy Warfare, brand supremacy, or any kind of manufactured bragging rights. Survivor Series is all about those nuanced sub-plots that accompany the traditional multi-man (or woman) elimination bouts that have been a staple of the pay-per-view’s menu since way back in 1987.

And this year’s show is no different.

With a ten-man, a ten-woman, and a twenty-man tag team match to look forward to, there’s a ton of potential for the kinds of twists and turns and team-based shenanigans that have helped make Survivor Series so great over the years. Even the title bouts have high-profile stakes attached to them. Basically, wherever you look on the card, there’s plenty going on beneath the surface of each and every rivalry.

So with the show almost upon us, and with all that drama just waiting to unfold, this article delves into ten last-minute predictions of some of the things we may see at Survivor Series 2016.

10. Team SmackDown Win The Men's Match

This past week on Raw, Team SmackDown launched a fairly tame invasion of Monday night’s show, emerging through the crowd to set up a multi-man stand-off with their Team Raw counterparts. Obviously the action picked up when that stand-off degenerated into a mass brawl, with Team Raw ultimately coming out on top after Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns double-powerbombed AJ Styles onto his SmackDown teammates at ringside.

So based on the unwritten rule of 50/50 booking, and the fact that whoever gains the upper hand on the go-home show tends to get their comeuppance on the pay-per-view, I’m feeling a win for Team SmackDown in the men’s traditional elimination match.

Also, given the fact that Raw is clearly the number one brand in the grand scheme of things, it would be fairly understandable if the powers that be feel the need to throw SmackDown a bone and at least give them this paper victory over the premier show.

Besides, it’s a tactic we’ve seen them use plenty of times before.
