It's unlikely that there are any official promotional pictures of Dean Douglas as WWF Intercontinental Champion. At In Your House 4 in October, 1995, Shawn Michaels was set to drop the belt to Douglas live on Pay-Per-View. Reportedly, that didn't sit well with HBK, who wanted to avoid the job if he could. Earlier, Michaels had also apparently been attacked by Marines in a night club incident. Therefore, the match didn't happen as scheduled. Instead, Michaels vacated the Intercontinental Title and it was awarded to Douglas. Before the man playing the teacher gimmick could sneer too much, he was jobbing to Razor Ramon. As quickly as he was been awarded it, Dean Douglas had lost the Intercontinental gold. In total, Douglas held the belt for much less than an hour. There have been long standing rumours that 'The Kliq' were in Vince McMahon's ear, convincing him to abort plans to make Douglas anything other than a brief champion. If true, it would have been interesting to see what the clearly-talented Dean could have done with the strap. As it was, he was hampered by a cartoon-like gimmick that didn't resonate with fans.
