Now there is a fact that you didn't see coming! After he broke into the industry in the mid-1980's he made a decision to break away from the pure English type of wrestling to do some of what he called "flashy moves". He spent a year or two wrestling this style - including a lot of dives over the top rope - until at the age of 21 he badly dislocated his shoulder doing a dive over the top rope during a match in Germany. Imagine how different - and more than likely short - his career would have been had he been able to stick to that style of wrestling. It's not often that I would be happy for someone to get an injury, but in this case high-flying wrestling's loss was the technical world of wrestling's gain!
