WrestleMania weekend was a huge spectacle for pro wrestling in general, but it was particularly wild for the World Wrestling Network family of promotions. The group held more than half a dozen shows and events, including two fantastic EVOLVE Wrestling cards, a CZW show, the inaugural Heart of SHIMMER tournament, Kaiju Big Battel featuring Kota Ibushi, and even a pre-WrestleMania barbecue with the legendary Terry Funk. As rousing a success as all those events were, though, the crowning glory of WWN's weekend was the group's annual Mercury Rising supershow. More than just an EVOLVE card, the show featured participation from fellow WWN groups Full Impact Pro and SHINE, as well as a host of international talent (including Ibushi). The result was an incredible card with action for just about everybody - whether you like submission wrestling, striking, high-flying, or even comedy wrestling, WWN had you covered. I was seated in the third row for Mercury Rising, with a great view of the evening's action and all of the excitement it provided. I left the show knowing that not only had I spent my time wisely, but that independent wrestling in the country - and, in fact, the world - is in very good shape.
