10 Memorable WWE Matches From Forgettable Pay-Per-Views
7. Shawn Michaels Vs. Chris Jericho (No Mercy 2008)
Widely regarded as one of the best WWE matches of the last ten years, Michaels vs. Jericho took place against a pretty bland backdrop.
The culmination of a brilliantly weaved story, Jericho had completed his transition to a sinister, suit-wearing heel, whilst Michaels was the plucky veteran attempting to earn a measure of revenge against Jericho for all his wrongdoings.
2008 was a fairly uninspired year for WWE, but Jericho vs. Michaels was a glimmer of hope in the wasteland of bad booking. It's hardly surprising that this match is remembered whilst the rest of the bouts on this show have been lost to time.
It also helps that the match itself was spectacular - exactly what you'd expect from the two men involved. It stands up as one of WWE's best ladder matches, a list that both men dominate, and was a truly 'show stopping' end to an otherwise-nothing pay-per-view.
