The last time Brock Lesnar had a wrestling match with Kurt Angle it was in Japan in 2007, not WWE. Their WWE matches took place throughout most of 2003. Invariably, they were of a very high quality, including the main event of WrestleMania XIX in Seattle. Angle talked to WWE about coming back around this time last year. It didn't happen mainly because Angle wanted to come in on a part-time deal while WWE wanted him to be a full-timer again. Angle was right to ask for part-time and WWE should have signed him. Angle's deal is up again in January, but he has said he wants to take a year off at that point. That could change if WWE offered him a big deal to return, though. What WWE could have done was sign Angle to a big contract, then built up a major match against Lesnar since it can be argued that Angle was Lesnar's greatest rival. While Lesnar's matches with The Undertaker might be more popular, the matches with Angle are clearly better and they are also the two most successful amateur wrestlers that WWE has signed in the last twenty years. The older Angle gets, the more the injuries pile up and the less likely this match becomes. Hopefully it can happen again one day, but it's a long shot. Seems WWE might have missed the boat on this one.
