10 Missed WWE Booking Moments That Screwed 2015

2. Kevin Owens Should've Defeated John Cena For The United States Championship

In a clear case of creative's cold feet about pushing a non-traditional performer making life very difficult right now, Kevin Owens should be the WWE United States Champion. However, he's not, and in John Cena's best year yet as a wrestler, we missed out on what could've been his best moment ever. If Kevin Owens wins the US Championship, then the rematch is Kevin Owens having his first US Championship open challenge. Seth Rollins coming down after the match and insulting John Cena could've been the moment where Cena and Rollins' feud started. Cena wanting (and then being granted) a title match in exchange for something like, not wrestling for the belt for 365 and Rollins also having to be censored for a month would've been great. Of course, add in Jon Stewart interfering because "a loser" like Cena shouldn't have Flair's record would've meant SO much more. As well, Owens being in the competitive long midcard match in Raw's second hour slot would be better than him being in showcase eight man main event tags. Owens wrestled for 15 years, blew away his main event opportunity, and deserves a chance to shine brighter. That chance was unquestionably missed.
