Seth Rollins threatening Edge's life in order for John Cena to reinstate The Authority was great for Rollins, but ultimately terrible for business overall. Though neither Triple H nor Stephanie could've predicted WWE's growth as a multimedia pioneer or the rampant success of WWE, both Stephanie and Triple H being so active when not heel characters on TV has proven quite tricky for WWE. Imagine a WWE where Triple H is in an onscreen role akin to Jack Tunney. He never appears unless it's time to name a top contender or announce a main event. Seth Rollins is then able to do the whole "stand on his own two feet" thing without having "father figure" Triple H being the one behind it, but rather he's a badass and *ACTUALLY* doing it all by himself. A Rollins championship run where he's an arrogant bad guy who lacks backup has largely occurred anyway. Imagine if what had to eventually be was planned that way all along. That'd be 100x a better situation.
