Seeing Rene Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki together completely screams out loud that the people in charge of writing storylines for WWE in 2004 didn't have a clue what to do with either man. Dupree had once been considered a potential top line prospect - boasting a tremendous physique and only 19 when he made his main roster debut, WWE had high hopes. On the flipside, Suzuki was always an awkward fit in the promotion, and had found it hard to get over with crowds following his debut. It didn't help that the man had a stereotypical 'evil foreigner' gimmick, and the fact that both he and Dupree were not from America seemed to be only reason for teaming them together. Incredibly, the duo would win the WWE Tag-Team Titles from Billy Kidman and Paul London in September, 2004, holding the straps until December when they lost out to Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio. This was not a great time for tag-team wrestling in WWE, needless to say, and such a random pairing did little to establish the duo division as anything special.
