8. The Boogeyman Lies About His Age

Something which isn't often mentioned during Tough Enough broadcasts is the fact that WWE have imposed a pretty strict age curfew on entering in the past. Obviously, people looking to get involved need to be at least 18, but the company aren't all that interested in entertaining the idea of folks over 35 entering. That proved to be a problem for Marty 'The Boogeyman' Wright during the fourth season of the show. Passing initial tests with flying colours, Wright looked to be exactly the kind of person the competition would attract, but all was not as it seemed. It turns out that the man had blatantly ignored the age limit, putting down on his application that he was 30 years old when he was in fact 40.Quite clearly, this flustered WWE somewhat, as they were clearly high on the man's athletic ability. Wright was disqualified from the show, but would quickly be offered an attempt to redeem himself, going on to eventually become The Boogeyman. Things worked out for Wright, but when he dropped the clanger that he was 5 years over the age limit, he must have been pretty ashamed.
