10 Most Damaging WWE Defeats
5. John Cena Over Bray Wyatt
It's clear to everyone that John Cena's WrestleMania legacy has long been cemented. Actually, he won his first four matches at the Grandest Stage of Them All, scoring victories over Big Show, JBL, Triple H and Shawn Michaels. If anyone in the company didn't need another one, it was him.
Bray Wyatt, on the other hand, was fighting on his very first Show of Shows. He was growing in repute, but still a relative baby at the age of 26, and in desperate need of a high profile victory to really put him amongst the wrestling elite.
So, when the pair of them stepped into the ring together at WrestleMania XXX, the outcome should have been pretty obvious - right? Alas, it was preferred that the storyline should have a more wholesome ending, with Cena going over at the expense of his dark adversary.
In some ways, you can actually understand (if not exactly condone) this decision. The build-up - which saw Bray serenade his opponent with the help of an eerie children's choir - seemed to question everything that Big Match John, and by extension WWE, stood for. It needed some sort of closure.
Wyatt, however, really, really needed a win.
