10 Most Dangerous Wrestling Moves Ever

3. Backdrop Driver

No tour of 1990s All Japan cringe-worthy moves would be complete without a look at Steve Williams's Backdrop Driver. First, some context - what Americans call a belly to back suplex, the Japanese give the more ominous name of backdrop. When it's done at a particularly high angle - with the victim, again, landing on his head and shoulders - then it becomes a Backdrop Driver. This was Williams's regular finisher, not a special move, and he used it on many occasions to destroy opponents. The most infamous Backdrop Drivers came in Williams's August 31, 1993 match with Kenta Kobashi. During the bout, Williams shocked viewers by using a pair of Backdrop Drivers that set Kobashi down directly on the top of his head. Those bumps are likely the most insane in the history of the sport, but Kobashi managed to weather each before being put down by a bridging Backdrop Driver.
