10 Most Devastating WWE Superstar Injuries Of 2015

5. Sami Zayn

There might not be a WWE superstar appearance this year that got as large a reaction as Sami Zayn answering John Cena€™s U.S. title Open Challenge on May 4th in Montreal. As the hometown hero, he got a roaring ovation from the audience, both because of his stand-out work in NXT and because he was arguably the biggest underdog and least likely to ever appear in WWE out of all the high-profile €˜indie€™ wrestler. Sadly, despite putting on a stellar performance against Cena that night, Zayn injured his shoulder (there€™s starting to be a pattern here) and was put out of action for an estimated six months (yup, definitely a pattern). It was unfortunate because, a) he was one of the biggest draws in NXT and was one of the most likely wrestlers to reach the main roster full-time; and b) he was involved in a classic feud with Kevin Owens at the time, which didn€™t get to reach its proper conclusion because they needed to give him a €˜safe exit€™ so that he could heal up. Zayn was sorely missed since he got injured, but it's hoped that he€™ll be a regular on WWE programming as soon as possible. Because as deep as the NXT roster is, there isn€™t anyone as quite as unique as Zayn.
