10 Most Flamboyant Wrestling Characters That Made Fans Cringe

5. Buff Bagwell

Similarly to Martel, Buff Bagwell also looked entirely like a male stripper. Ironically, after his wrestling career finished, Bagwell would actually work as a gigolo. Best-remembered for his lengthy tenure with World Championship Wrestling, 'The Stuff' was always perfectly presented. Even during tag-team runs as a babyface, fans found it hard to really like the guy. After all, he had a great physique, a clean-cut look and was clearly talented. In later years, he was difficult to like because WCW cast him as an insufferable 'mummy's boy' on television. Buff's mother, Judy made several WCW appearances, and when the pair were aligned it did nothing to endear the wrestler to fans. Prancing his way to the ring in an outrageous top hat, Buff constantly referred to himself in the third person and encouraged the ladies to give him a call. It was simple heel posturing, but it was also becoming clear that the man behind the character was fairly close to the gimmick. That became evident when Bagwell signed for the WWF, lasting only a short period before his attitude got in the way of his career.
