World Championship Wrestling was a strange company. Going further, WCW is perhaps the kind of wrestling promotion that will never come again, at least not without a huge amount of effort, and an incredible degree of business savvy. Often, TNA gets compared with WCW, but the truth is, Dixie Carter and her merry band of stars have never come close to matching what WCW achieved. With Eric Bischoff at the helm, WCW did the unthinkable, ousting Vince McMahon from the number one spot in North American wrestling, establishing themselves as a true force in the industry, where previously they had simply been a slightly less illustrious alternative. This article focuses on those performers, ones who had every conceivable gift in their arsenal, yet simply couldn't break into the top tier of World Championship Wrestling. Stunningly, when they threatened to, they were cruelly cut off, or simply offered an all-access pass into the main event club when it was too late.
