10. Mike Awesome

During his tenure in the original ECW, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before either WCW or the then-WWF snapped Mike Awesome up, pushed him to the moon and made him into a huge star. The guy was never the most technical of wrestlers, but he had incredible speed and precision which was very impressive for a man standing around 6'6". Eventually, Awesome would sufficiently impress those in charge of WCW, and he'd join the promotion in 2000, initially being programmed opposite Kevin Nash. It seemed like a big deal when the man made the switch, and all seemed to be going swimmingly, until WCW tampered with what had made the man so renowned. Repackaging Awesome as 'That 70's Guy' and the 'Fat Chick Thrilla', WCW badly missed the mark, and turned Mike Awesome into someone fans groaned upon seeing waltz on-screen. As the hard-hitting performer who hit quick and wasn't afraid to fly through the air, Awesome was exactly that, but what were WCW thinking?
