10 Most Important Non-WWE Wrestling Moments Of The 2010s
3. Bullet Club Form
In early 2013, babyface and then-IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Prince Devitt, slowly embarked on a heel turn after failing to defeat IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Hiroshi Tanahashi.
At the Invasion Attack pay-per-view in April, Devitt turned on his long-term tag team partner, Ryusuke Taguchi, and joined forces with "The Underboss" Bad Luck Fale. Over the coming weeks and months, they would be joined by "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson, and Tama Tonga, announcing on 3 May that the name of this new alliance was "Bullet Club". And thus, history was made.
Since that day, the group has grown to include some of wrestling's biggest stars - Taiji Ishimori, Adam Cole, "Hangman" Adam Page, The Young Bucks, and not forgetting former leaders AJ Styles and Kenny Omega.
The stable is easily the most popular of any wrestling faction over the past decade, with Bullet Club t-shirts being a must have in wrestling fans' wardrobes across the globe and their popularity spreading far beyond the confines of NJPW.
Bullet Club was what helped put New Japan on the map for Western fans. It appealed to a whole new audience and now holds an almost-mythical place in the current wrestling landscape.
That's gotta be worth a Too Sweet.
