6. Charlotte

WWE’s Four Horsewomen are the foundation on which the Women’s Revolution is built, and for that, they’re now among the most important women’s wrestlers in WWE history. Few performers have had such a transformative impact on a division’s fortunes, but Charlotte has always attracted more criticism than Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Becky Lynch.

It was understandable at first. Charlotte’s only been wrestling for four years, and while she’s easily one of the most athletic women in the company, she has always been a little rough around the edges. Becky and Bayley were always smoother in the ring, while Sasha had the flashy, attention-grabbing “Boss” gimmick to set her aside from her cohorts.

Charlotte was always “very good,” but her colleagues were often exceptional. Still, she was treated as the NXT women’s division’s cornerstone, and has been equally dominant on the main roster. WWE pinpointed her as the group’s biggest star at a very early stage, and their faith was vindicated this year.

Charlotte isn’t perfect, but she has absolutely nailed her detestable character. She has become one of WWE’s most effective heels, and her once-nervy mic work has improved immeasurably. There’s still some polishing to be done, but none of WWE’s females have a stronger grasp of their character than Charlotte, and coupled with her improved in-ring abilities, this makes her a perfect long-term champion.
